Every participating school is welcome to join. The competition is open to Grades 7–10 and Senior High School learners, regardless of experience level. Whether students are taking their first competition or are experienced competitors, PCMC provides a meaningful platform for everyone.

Why is there a School Experiential Round?

The School Experiential Round ensures every student has the opportunity to experience an international-style mathematics competition in a supportive environment. There is no elimination at this stage. Its purpose is to inspire participation, build confidence, and encourage more learners to discover the excitement of mathematics.

PCMC goes beyond routine calculations. Students tackle authentic, higher-order thinking problems using scientific calculators to strengthen reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world application skills—competencies essential for future-ready learners.

Will my teachers receive support?

Absolutely. Teachers will receive complimentary training, sample questions, competition resources, and preparation materials to help students perform confidently throughout the competition journey. A Teacher & Coach Training Webinar will be held on 25 July 2026 before the competition begins.

Yes! We encourage schools to give as many students as possible the opportunity to participate. The School Experiential Round is designed to maximise participation and spark students' interest in mathematics.

Outstanding schools and learners will receive medals, trophies, certificates, and regional recognition. Schools with strong participation may also be recognised as Most Active Schools, celebrating their commitment to mathematics excellence.
